link birthdays in a concact to the calender

why not link birthdays in a contact to the calender as an option?

In my version of Outlook it is completely automatic. In the contact there is
a space to key in the birthday and it automatically brings it into the
callendar as a recurring event. There is no option to not bring it over,
however you can delete the event from the calendar.
