add travelling time or preparation time in front an appointment

I would like to have a travelling time in front of my appointment so that i
know when to leave the office and still see the start time of the actual
meeting

You can use a separate traveling appointment. That way you may adjust
for appropriate travel times.

That is an often-requested feature. Perhaps it will show up at some point.

If you are an attendee of the meeting and not the Organizer, you can stretch
the Start time of the meeting to be 30 minutes earlier (or whatever you need)
and add a note to the beginning of the body text of the meeting to say when
the actual start time. That doesnt effect anyone elses calendar's (as long as
you aren't the organizer) and it blocks your time correctly on your calendar.
The only down side is that if the Organizer changes anything on the original
meeting request, the meeting on your calendar will be disconnected from those
updates.

I don't recommend this method - create a tentative appointment for travel
time. This way its easier to schedule more appointments close to the same
location and adjust the travel time accordingly.
