Link ACCESS 2003 via ODBC on Windows XP64

Daniel

After after installing my ODBC clients (64 bits) and after having created the
DSN, the list of the available DSN (64 bits) does not appear in MS-ACCESS
2003.
ACCESS sees only the DSN 32 bits.
And the 32 bits DSN does allow me to have a successful connection.

Is there a workaround or a solution to this problem?

Access is currently a 32 bit application. I don't know when they may offer a
64 bit version. There are many issues surrounding this move, so it may be
some time. I have not heard of any work around for this as yet.

Since the version of access you are using is 32bits, then you have to use
the 32 bit version of the driver.

You can't mix 32 and 64 bit programs. So, all 32 bit programs should run
just fine on your 64 bit box, and since ms-access is 32bits, then you be
using and install 32 bit odbc drivers on your 64 bit win box.

When you are installing and using 32bit programs here, any other "part" or
piece you use will thus be 32bits. So, you can use 32bit activeX controls,
but you cannot use 64bit ActiveX controls with the 32 bit version of
ms-access.
