Since we've updated to PPT 2002, we've been having problems with a chart we use quite often. It's a line graph wherein groups of 2 points should be connected, and there should be no lines between the pairs of points. Typically, across the x axis we have "Previous time period" and "Current time period" as a pair, then the pair is repeated for various groups. "Previous" and "Current" should be connected to each other, but each group should be separate.
In the previous version, we could remove the unwanted lines by choosing a data point and removing the line, and the lines on either side remained. In the new version, however, when a line is removed from a datapoint, the line to the left connects to the next point on the right, simply skipping the point the line was removed from. As soon as we open one of the old graphs using the new version, the extra lines appear.
I've come up with a work-around by making the unwanted lines white, but that's not really ideal.
I assume the change was made to make the program "smarter," but it's rather detrimental to us. Is there any other way to remove lines from a line graph without the lines bypassing the points they were removed from?
Thanks so much!
Laura
