Line break within grouping

I have a report to view new clients for a period and revenue.

I group by the date they became a client [StartDate], by month. I place the
text boxes to sum the month in the header. The results I get are, for
example:

Nov 08 $x
Apr 08 $x
Jan 08 $x
Sep 07 Sx
May 07 $x
Apr 07 $x

The above works fine, reports correctly and I sum the group in the footer,
But all active months run together down the page...hard to find the year user
looks for.

I cannot figure out how to provide a line, or even totals for each year,
since my group is grouped on month.

For example, using above:

Nov 08 $x
Apr 08 $x
Jan 08 $x

Sep 07 Sx
May 07 $x
Apr 07 $x

The years are separated by a line space for easier reading when there is a
long and active period.

I use Access 2007. I've tried two groups, thinking I might fool Access and
group one by month, then the next by year...no joy.

Can anyone provide a method to achieved this?

Thanks,

In the Sorting'n'Grouping pane, choose your date field a second time, and
set it up just like the first one.

Then go back and change the first one, so the interval is by Year.

You now have two group headers on the same field. The outer one is by year,
and the inner one by month.

YEP!!! That did the trick. Once again, to my rescue. Thanks.
