Limited user account bug work arounds

I

Indy Sabre

I have been running MS Antispyware on 2 of my laptops with
no real issues for a couple months or so. I am the only
admin and users on these laptops.

On our family's desktop with XP pro, I decided to install
this a couple weeks ago. I am the admin and my wife and
children have limited user accounts. Now, Every time they
log on, they get MS AS popups asking about changing the the
user shell my documents folder and asking about changing
IEs sart page. Even if we select allow and remember it asks
the same thing next time they log on. This was such an
inconvenience that I was considering unintalling MS AS.

I double checked that the my docs targets and IE start
pages where set up properly.

Well I thought about it some more and decided to try to
disable what ever was generating those messages. Here is
what worked for us:

I opend MS AS ( under the admin account) and selected Real
time protection / system agents and then deactivated user
shell folders - this corrected the my docs folder changing
popup.

I then went to Real time protection / application agent
checkpoints and disabled IE URLs - this eliminated the IE
start page popup. (I am protected here any way by Spyware
guard and Spybot ).

I know this is probalby very basic to some people here but
I wanted to share this incase anyone else is having these
kind of hassles with limited user accounts. IMHO disabling
these 2 things was easy and makes our experience with MSAS
much better.

Hi Indy,
Nice workaround. The limited user issue and multiple users issues are being
worked on.
