Limited user account and Norton I-net security 2005?

G

Guest

I created a limited user account for myself (for safer surfing).

On using live update (Norton I-net 2005) I am informed that the the
"Intrusion Prevention signatures" haven't been updated and an error occured.

Tracing the error number at Nortons web-site, I am advised to uninstall and
than reinstall Norton!

Switching back to my administrator account and going to the same
prodedure-all is well and live update goes through without problems.

Questions:
Does Norton I-net security 2005 dissallow using live update for limited
account users? Do I have to use always the administrator account to do so?

Is my limited account secure/protected,if I update Norton
Antivirus/Antispyware programmes...etc using my administrator account?

Your answers are greatly appreciated.

Queston 1: Don't know, you'll have to see if Norton gives any insight on
their "knowledge base "
Question 2: See question 1
Question 3 : Yes, if you can get NIS to update and not break WGA or
Windows/Microsoft Update

NIS is *not* compatible with XP. Save yourself a great deal of grief and
uninstall it when the subscription runs out and then replace it with an
AV that is not a drag on the system, does not conflict with Windows,
does not damage the Updating process, and actually 'protects* the system.
