Limited right-clicking and or copy/cut functions

Under windows xp pro is there a way to prevent a user from right-clicking on
a file or document or is there a way to prevent users from using either the
copy/cut features to a file or folder.

I don't need to prevent a user from seeing the file, but prevent them from
copying certain files and putting it into other folders.

i've tried going to the security tab and restricting access to just read and
deny write, but it doesn't change anything. Can anyone help??

You don't mention if the computer is in a domain or not. You can use Group
Policy to disable some context menus but if done at the local computer level
it will by default apply to all users that logon to the computer. What I
would check is for restrictions to context menu and hiding the file menu
under user configuration/administrative templates/Windows components/Windows
Explorer. Note that this will not totally disable a users ability to copy
files as they could still use the command line, keyboard shortcuts
[control-c and control-v], or possibly through other applications. You can
also disable access to the command prompt via Group Policy. For a local
computer gpedit.msc is used. A determined user could also use printscreen to
access file information or even photograph the computer monitor so the best
policy is to hire trustworthy people. --- Steve

Then you can configure Group Policy at the domain/OU level so that it
applies to users that you want to restrict. However the rest applies as far
as a users ability to work around restrictions if they are determined.
Microsoft also has a technology called Rights Management that may also help
but requires compatible applications, operating systems, a database server
such as SQL, and PKI infrastructure as desribed in the link below. ---
