limited connectivity after home network set-up

Installed new HDD, mainboard, processer, and video board. After initial
start, and loaded new XP home w/SP2, everything was working great. On-line
through router hooked to cable modem. 2 other cpu's hooked to router all
running happy. Decided to put the new computer in the work group with the
others for printer sharing. everything seemed ok then i lost my internet
connection. the network connections says "limited connectivity" try to repair
and it won't acquire IP. What's strange is that i can see the icons of the
other computers in the work group and the new cpu shows up on the other 2. If
i reset the router, it comes back for a short time then goes away?

I am having similar trouble with my home network setup.
I am networking two PC's to use internet connection sharing and I get the
same message
"Limited or no connectivity".
You might not be able to access the Internet or some network resources. This
problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the
computer.

I, too am having these problems, no problems for over a year, both computers
on xp, laptop accessing through pc. Did a complete re-install on the
laptop, reconnected to the pc, the same way as I did before. It worked for
a couple of days then I started getting the same error messages as the
previous two posts. I have re-done the network connection and no joy. I
have no idea why. Is there anyone that could please give me some ideas as
to what else to check, my daughter is having withdrawals with her laptop not
connected.
