Limited accounts in WinXP cannot browse properly

I am running windows xp sp2. I have this problem before service pack 2 came
out. If I set a limited account in my computer and I open the IE and I type
an address when I hit enter to start viewing the site it takes a while(maybe
a minute or a little more) for the explorer to start working. It seems that
during that period the IE sleeps because it isn't doing any search. After a
minute it finds the page( I'm talking about any site not an specific one) and
I start browsing normally. If I put another address it works fine, but if I
close the explorer and open it again I have the same problem. However if I
change that same account to an administrator type account I don't have that
problem at all, and if I turn it back to a limited account it happens again.
I have five computers here and I have the same issue on two of them.
Peculiarly the problem is on two Dell Dimension 2350 the other computers are
E-Machines and they all work fine with limited accounts.

Any ideas?

Carlos,

could you check one setting?

Open Internet Explorer and select Tools, Internet Options,
Connections. Click on the LAN Settings button. Check whether the
box, "Automatically detect network settings" is disabled. It
should be.

It could be something else, I can't be sure. But it's quick and
simple enough to be worth a try.

Another possible culprit could be 802.1X authentication, which
should also be disabled in the advanced IP settings.

The symptoms for both are usually somewhat different from what
you describe, but who knows?
