Limit Shared Folder Access

J

Joe

I have a peer to peer network and all machines use WinXP Pro and no server.
I want to share a folder on one workstation but only to two users on the
network. I am able to share the folder but everyone can access it. Can
this be done in WinXP Pro?

Tanks,

Joe

Joe,

If you disable Simple File Sharing (Control Panel - Folder Options - View -
Advanced settings) on your computer, you can setup a share with access
permissions as you need. Remember with peer to peer authentication, you have to
setup account / password pairs on the accessing system identical to the accessed
system.

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
