Limit multiple votes

Is there anyway to limit multiple voting responses from a single individual?
When I get an e-mail with voting options, it seems I can vote as often as I
want and each response triggers an e-mail response to the sender. Multiple
responses are easy to strip in a small group but in a distribution list of
500 individuals, multiples are easily overlooked.

Each vote may generate a new response, but the original item will tally only one response per sender.
