Hello.

I've installed an application for 8 customers whose Data are on a Windows XP
Home OEM computer. After 5 at the same time client windows are unable to
access the shared Data folder; going to MS-DOS, Net view returns an error 71.
For all I know it has to do with the limitation for 5 active connections on
XP Home.

Since it is an OEM product and trying to prevent our customer from spending
more money on a new XP Pro, I'd like to know if there is any way of solving
this.

Thanks in advance.

Exactly. WinXP Home is limited to 5 simultaneous connections.

No, there isn't. In fact, attempting to do so would be a deliberate
violation of the WinXP Home EULA, and would render that license void.
Either upgrade the computer in question to WinXP Pro, or a server
operating system.

XP Home has a limit of 5 concurrent connections. The cheapest fix would be
to upgrade to Pro which allows for 10 connections.
