Life was so great when I was able to run ActiveX Controls on IE 6

Whatever the h*** happened that now I CAN'T use any ActiveX Controls on my
Internet Explorer 6. I just wan for Microsoft to answer me a few questions
and tell me how to do stuff without Active X Controls. Here are some
questions:

1. How can I use Microsoft Update if it ask me for Active X Control to
install in order to use it?
2. How can I get support from my computer manufacturer if they use Active X
Controls to be able to chat, and connect to my pc remotely and help me with
my issue?
3. How can I get help from my antivurus, firewall, and spyware software, if
their diagnostics would only run on Active X Controls?
4. How can I install basic software like Adobe Flash Player? Adobe
Macromedia Player? Java Virtual Machine? How can I even be able to chat
without those 3 fundamental programs if i only knew how to get them on Active
X Controls?
5. HOW AM I GOING TO RUN GENUINE ADVANTAGE TOOLS TO MAKE SURE MY XP IS
GENUINE WITHOUT Active X Controls?
6. ANYTHING ELSE THAT I FORGOT ABOUT THAT USES Active X Controls? Probably
everything else that runs on the Internet?

It used to be so nice, it used to be so good, when Active X Controls were
available. Now it is all gone to h***.

If anyone would like to explain what is happening, tell me so.

Thank you PA Bear, I was so frustraded at the fact that my computer did not
ran ActiveX Controls the past days, my Security software was going hayware on
me, that I just snaped at this Newsgroups Forums, and I am really sorry about
that.

Well, to go back at my problem: I just ran updates to my computer, and
restarted it. After a few days I noticed that my computer was not running
any ActiveX Controls under any user accounts on my pc. So I blamed it on my
Internet Security Software. I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Got all
updates from the Security software but still no go with ActiveX Controls.
And it was telling me all the time that this and that software was using
unreconginzed modules to acces the internet. So, uninstalled it and ran a
few updates, and it is doing good now. As for Internet Explorer, I just
can't run the ActiveX, on other user accounts, it does not let access to the
internet, even my firefox web browser is not accessing internet in that
account, so I am a little worried about that too.

Any more information you would like for me to offer you?? I uninstalled the
most recent update on my pc thinking that it would fix the ActiveX problem.
Do you have any idea as why Microsoft is doing this? Is it for security
reasons?

And once agian, thank you for letting me see my mistake, and giving me a
chance to correct it.

Sorry about that. I am running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version
2002 Service Pack 2. I am running Norton Internet Security 2005 with the
most recent updates. I am not sure what update I removed, but I remember it
being installed on the 24th of this month. Also, I have enabled my security
software to allow activex controls to run, and java scripting too.

I have NIS2005, and I only ran updates on it, installed freshly. Even if I
disable, or uninstall the software, I still can't run activex on my pc. I am
not sure what you are talking about now-uninstalled update, and I run
Microsoft Update, and yet it says that there aren't any high priority
updates. Thank you for helping me bear this stone along the way.

And it looks like you other problems which might be related to the one in this thread:

Well, the problems are related because i am that user.

I am sorry that I said that I couldn't use Microsoft Update in the first
place because at a certain point I couldn't use it.
I got the error on Microsoft Update just like it says on this article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909738. Ran the registry
changes with no success. I can acess Microsoft Update, but no go with the
ActiveX. Also, the internet issue is spreading to
my other user accounts on the same computer. I ran scans for viruses, and
spyware, but no go.

Thank you for your time, and I can Declare

I can always clean the pc and re-install the operating system. I just dont
prefer to do
so at this time. I checked the webpages, ran the programs they suggested,
and still
no good luck with fixing this problem. Funny thing, I get internet access
when I open an
internet based program eg: Messenger. Then I tell it to open my mail,
bingo I have
internet access. Then I use that window to browse the net. If I open the
program
normally, it will say connecting to site 1.0.0.0, and the connection times
out. It does not
matter if I disable my security software to allow it, no go. At this
moment, I am running
those programs, to see what they find. Nothing so far, but I will post my
log on that
forum you told me about. Thank you.

I don't know if this helps, but I get these errors when I tell my DSL box to
forward certain ports to allow me to host games on the internet.
I delete those ports, the problems are gone. But I still can't run the
ActiveX controls on my pc. The programs that I ran from those websites gave
me no errors, everything is running fine. I even ran that Ad-Aware, and it
found nothing than tracking cookies.
What does the forwarding of points have to do with this problem?
Thank you.
