If your original XP was a legitimate one, and this is the same machine
as it was installed on in the first place, what has happened is that you
have made hardware changes (or the system thinks you have) that make it
*look* like a different machine. Or that it is a retail license that
you have indeed transferred to a new machine, removing from the
original. For that you boot in Safe Mode, which it will allow, go to
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate Windows
and use the Activate by Phone, to call a toll free number that will be
given.
If it was *not* a legitimate license, or this is a second machine, or an
attempt to transfer an OEM system, you need to get a replacement full
retail copy and install it, as a 'Repair Installation' using the Product
Key that comes with it
