Licenses in use exceeds CALs

Hi All,

We are running an "inherited" Win2k Server for our company networking.
Recently we have noticed a significant slow down on responsiveness from
client computers accessing network or internet resources.

In checking, it appears we have 27 licenses used but only have a 25 CAL
setup.

Questions:
1. Is this possible?
2. Could this be the culprit behind the recent slowdown?
3. What would be the expected behavior if we have more people accessing
network resources than we have licenses for?

Thanks in advance!

Questions:
1. Is this possible?

Yes in per seat mode it is expected that each connecting computer has a CAL.
2. Could this be the culprit behind the recent slowdown?

No not likely.
3. What would be the expected behavior if we have more people accessing
network resources than we have licenses for?

In per seat mode you would not notice anything. In per server mode, when you
reach your limit the next user is not allowed to log onto the domain.
