Hi,
If I create an application in Access that I wish to sell, using the
royalty-free runtime Access files from the Visual Studio Tools software, do I
need to buy a license or anything else. Is there a website where I can learn
the process?
Thank you,
Karl

If you have already purchased Access 2003 and the Visual Tools software,
you have already purchased everything you need in terms of licenses.

Here is a previous post by MVP Doug Steele which may help:
You can purchase the Developer Edition of Office*. That allows you to
package your application together with a royalty-free run-time version of
Access that your users can install so that they can use your application.

*Actually, the name is constantly changing.Tony Toews has an overview at
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/developereditionfaq.htm that should help you
figure out what you need.

Be aware, though, that Microsoft only sells the most recent version of
Office. With Office 2003, that means you need to purchase the following in
order to create an Access 2003 runtime application:

- Microsoft Access 2003
- Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003 (which includes the Access 2003
Developer Extensions)

The ADE is the product that gives you the license to deploy the 2003 runtime
components and you have to have Access 2003 installed in order to install
the ADE.

You obtain the license when you buy the Access 2003 Developer Extensions.

Hi, Karl.

need to buy a license or anything else.

If you own Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) with the Access Developer
Extensions (ADE), which gives you an unlimited Runtime license, and have
Access 2003 or MS Office Professional 2003 to develop the application, then
that's all you need to distribute the Access 2003 Runtime.
Is there a website where I can learn
the process?

Yes. Please see the following Web pages:
