Hello All.

I'm looking at buying a LG 17" LCD Monitor (Model L1710S). I was
wondering if anyone up here could offer an opinion on it? Where I
live there are not any computer stores, so it is hard to see for
myself how the picture quality is.

Thanks!

I have a 1720P. Not sure what the difference is. I am quite happy with it. Fast
response, good color. My only complaint is that it is almost too bright - I have
to turn the brightness down almost all the way. But then most modern LCDs seem
to be that way.

Thanks for the posts. The L1710S is rated at 250cd/m2 and the L1720P
is rated at 300cd/m2, I was wondering if 250 would be ok, sounds like
it should be.

Hi, I have one of the 1715S models. The contrast is fine.

However, the backlight is SO strong that alot of my darker colours look
illuminated. Black seems to be more of a purple.

Still not sure whether this is just my monitor or not. Can't get an
answer out of LG or eBuyer.

If there's any possibility of having a look at one in PCWorld or
somewhere, I strongly recommend looking at a display model first.

I have the LG Flatron L1710S, and its been a dream! Not one dropped pixel,
good colour, not too bright (just right for me). Fast response so there is
no blur/delay in games, all in all its a very nice piece of kit.
