lexmark X83 / Cannon ixus v digital camera

i have a cannon ixus v digital camera, and a lexmark X83
printer, i run on 2000 proffesional, when both are
installed it does not recognise the camera, both are usb.
to use the camara i have to uninstall the printer, any
ideas for me,

Do you mean physically uninstall printer or just remove usb connection?
Does yr pc have 2* usb ports or are you using an external hub?
If usb from mb are there any udates on manufacturers site? drivers bios etc?
