Lexmark X4270 PROBLEM

After install and reinstalling my Lexmark X4270 printer software I am
receiving the error message "user canceled". This happens only after the
files starts loading afetr the setup window is displayed. Lexmarh tech
support allowed me to get this far after changing the support services in the
Lexmark software. The computer recognizesthe printer but will not allow to do
a full install? HELP HELP its a new printer.

Lewis, I've got only one single response for you. If this is a NEW printer
wrap it up, take it back for credit towards the purchase of either a new
HP, Canon or Epson printer. Keeping the Lexmark will be full of problems
for you in the future.

The problem is not with the Lexmark printer, as evident with all the
problems associated with XP appearing here. The printer prints a test page.
The problem starts when I am trying to install the software on the computer,
I get to "setup is updating your syste", "setup is copying files" then "user
canceled" the software stops loading and shuts down. The "user canceled" is
not a Lexmark software error.
I did a sysinfo check with the Lexmark software and got the error
"sysinfo.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". As stated earlier
the Lexmark X4270 prints a internal test page its the software and the OS in
conflict. HELP

Are you using two firewalls by any chance? Only one should be in force.
Also check your Internet Explorer Tools/Internet Options/Security....set all
zones to default, also Advanced tab...default.

I sent your concern to one of the Lexmark testers that are present at
Microsoft. I am sure he will attempt a repro.

If you plugged the printer into your computer before installing the
software, you will need to run the uninstall utility for your printer before
attempting the installation. You can find the utility on the Lexmark
website, each print drivers has it's own cleanup utility.

By the way it's not just this Lexmark device.
