Lexmark X1150 Printer

I have a Lexmark X1150 printer that is attached to a Dell
Dimension 2400 which was upgraded from Windows XP Home
Edition to Windows XP Professional. After the Windows
upgrade, the printer would no longer work. The computer
said it "could not communicate" with the printer. We
have checked the printer on another computer, and the
cable is fine.

What could be the issue?

It's a Lexmark. Disconnect the printer from the PC and follow Bruce
Sanderson's instructions at
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm
to remove all traces of the printer. Pay specific attention to Bruce's
special section on Lexmark printers.

Then download a new copy of the software from the Lexmark website at
www.lexmark.com

Install the software and ONLY connect the printer when the software tells
you to do so.
