you get what you pay for and lexmark tends to be ok, but in the end it is
sometimes cheaper to buy a new lexmark than to buy ink for it...

I have an x1150 and it's worked fine for a couple of years now, no problems
at all.

Nobody is selling printers to make money. Everyone is selling ink to make
money. I inject my ink and the cost is minimal.

I've been using a Lexmark X83 "All In One" printer for over four years. It
seems to do everything O.K. Ink is expensive, but that's the same for all
printers. I'd be willing to buy another Lexmark if I needed a new printer.

Lexmark is evil. They were the ones who put a chip on their laser toner
cartridges that prevented refilling. Then they sued a cottage-industry
cartridge refiller under the DCMA for reverse-engineering the chip so he
could re-load the cartridges.

Fie on Lexmark!

Epson, and others, are now putting chips on ink-jet cartridges. Fortunately,
there are "chip-resetters" (available on Ebay) that will allow you to refill
these little money-pits.

im using a lexmark 1185, it works just fine, cept the ink is high, ive tryed
to inject ink, cept they never seem to work right after that, so i just but
new ones, anyone want a refill kit? , i do send the old cartridges to
recyling center, pobox 683000, franklin, tn, 37068-9911. have never seen any
reconditioned inks for sale at any stores. for lexmark, but see every other
brand.

Just keep trying. And remember that Lexmark really isn't the most
economical printer to purchase in the first place.

Really a personal opinion question - one that will be based of of limited
exposure to printers (most people get only a few printers in their
lifetime..)

From a system administrator standpoint - I would never purchase a lexmark.
Just isn't sturdy enough/reliable enough in my experience.
However - don't go by one opinion - look here:

Read other normal consumer opinions and ratings.
