I have a computer that on Nov 18 slowed to a crawl. I

Nov 21
Temporary Solution: Reboot/Restart

My 18 month old Windows XP Home computer flies through applications and
boots in under 35 seconds (which includes loading NAV and ZAP). I faithfully
download every critical update from Windows Update.

Your problem started in between the updates you listed
which leads me to believe it could be spyware,virus,heat
or bad memory causing your problem.
