Legacy program works on XP calling QT5, but fails on Vista with message:...

R

Raymond

The software is from 1999.

It was developed with Macromedia's Authorware 5.0.

It installs QuickTime 2.12, but on XP I uninstalled that and installed
Quicktime 5 -- and the software is able to use Quicktime to display .MOV
files.

However, on Vista the following occurs.

If I install QuickTime 5 or QuickTime 7, the .MOV files can be played
individually, but when the program tries to display the opening video it
states:

Unable to load external movie driver for Intro1st.mov.
Possibly the driver is missing or there is no enough memory.

There is 1 GB of free memory for Vista.

Is there a way to get this working on Vista, just as on XP?

Thank you.

Raymond.

You will have to check for a update to the application to see if there is a
Vista compatible one out there. If not your only option would be to try
compatibility mode. Right click on the Icon>Properties>Compatibility Tab.
Check the box for XP SP2 Mode. Try it then if it works great if not your
out of luck without a update to that software.
