Left function error on Runtime only PC

I've created a small database that I've compiled and loaded on a PC
with Access 2007 Runtime only and Office 2000 (no Access). When I open
one of my forms, I get an error because of a Formula in my filter query
behind the form.

Last Name: Left([Preferred Name],5)

What could cause this problem?

It's likely a problem with your References collection. I explain what these

Unfortunately, since you're using the runtime, there may not be anything you
can do to fix it.
