Hi

Is it possible to set Outlook Express to leave the messages on the server? I
want OE6 to download the messages to my computer but to leave them on the
server.

Thanks

Dave

Hi

You would have to set that up via your ISP - not OE.

Set this on the server (as Will said) + in :
Tools > Accounts > the account's properties > Advanced tab > Tick "Leave a copy on
the server" + Untick the two check boxes below that

→ Ayush [ Good :-) Luck ]

In OE, try Tools > Accounts > select your Mail account >
Properties > Advanced tab
and check "Leave a copy of messages on server"? OK your way out.

I just tried it and it worked for me.

I see Thunderbird can do it so thought there was a similar setting in OE
too.

OE can do it. The setting is basically in the same place as it is in
Thunderbird.....

Be aware that almost all ISPs have a storage size limit. When you reach your limit, they will not
accept any new mail for you.
Leaving your messages on the server could put you over that limit very quickly.

Have been trying it for days. Doesn't work for me.
Use desktop mainly to view messages
Tried using laptop to view messages, no luck. Configured both machines they
same way. Sent a test message from the desktop, when delivered two identical
messages arrived. could not view message from the laptop.

But it would help to reduce all that spam. ;-)
