I am convalescing after back surgery and am able to use my laptop but
cannot sit up for periods longer than 20 minutes at a time so I cannot
use my desk top machine very often. I have set up my main email
account on my laptop as well as my desk top. They are both connected
to the Internet via Wi-Fi Router. I am using XP Home on the laptop
with Outlook as part of Office Pro 2003.

What I need to accomplish is to be able to open my email on the laptop
while leaving a copy of the email on the ISP's server so when I get
time and am able I will be able to do the proper disposition of all
the emails on the desk top. i.e., either delete each email or put them
in the proper folders for historical reference.

I know it did this one time before using Outlook 2002 on the desktop
but I cannot find the proper option in outlook 2003 on the laptop.

Your help would be very much appreciated..

Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Select the account. Click Change>More
Settings>Advanced. It's there, exactly like it was in Outlook 2002.

Thank you ever so much. I knew it had to be there but just did not
remember where.
Thanks again.

I am getting two copies of each email. I am not sure if this is a
result of me setting the parameter to leave a copy of each email on
the server or if it was happening before as I never used this laptop
to read my normal email account before.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Whether or not you leave a message on the server should not affect how many
copies you get, since your laptop client should be keeping track of which
messages it has downloaded. Do you have more than one account pulling from
the same server? Do you have an antivirus program scanning mail as it comes
in?
