Leading Zeros

S

Imported names and address from a mailing house.
All zips had leading zeroes before the import.
Now they all appear without.
Attempted to format the cell and find and replace.
Nothing seems to bring back the leading zeros.

Any suggestions?

Just what formt did you try to use?

Have you tried selecting the column, and then,
<Format> <Cells> <Special>,
And then choose "Zip Code"

This works whether the numbers are "Text" or "Numbers".
All 4 digit numbers will be prefixed with a zero.

However, if you have 5 and 9 digit codes mixed, this won't work too well,
though you'll still get those leading zeros added to the 4 digit numbers.
