.ldb files

I just spent all day inputing 500+ records into a database. I then tried to
do a parameter query and no files showed for the dates requested and now I
have .ldb file as well as my original .mdb file. But I cannot access data.
What did I do? How can I fix? How do I not do it again?

Don't worry about the .ldb file, that's normal. It will appear when anyone
connects to the database and disappear when evryone is out. It holds locking
information.

Post the SQL of your query so we can have a look at it.

Thank you for your response. I am not well versed in Access How do I post
the SQL that you asked me to?

Open your query in SQL view, copy and paste the text.

Click the little arrow next to the design view triangle icon and select the
SQL option.

When I try to open the .mdb file it is like it is not there. The file is a
little over 400KB each file only has three fields. but when I try to veiw it
nothing happens. can I send you the file?

I think perhaps I somehow have lost my data. When I select view data objects
I can get nothing like there is no data to view. I had been periodically
saving the file as I was entering data and now it semms as though there is no
data. I would like to know what I did so I do not do it again.

Set up a temp email address (yahoo) and post it here. I can then email you...
I don't want to display my email address in public!

Alternatively, join mdbmakers.com
After around 5 posts, you can upload files and people can look at it for you.

No tables, Ack!
Are you sure you are opening the same file that you entered all the data in?
Were you entering data directly into tables?

You said you saved several times, how did you do that?
Have you done a search for .mdb files with a modified date to see if there
is another one somewhere?

I was entering data using form veiw, I saved by clicking blue floppy in
toolbar. I will do a search. One thing I did notice when I looked at the
files properties the file name had a ~ added to it which I am sure is not
good.

fbcbc_birthdates.mdb. When I attempt to open the file Access opens and
nothing ahpeens it has a black window saying it is ready. It is like the
file doesn't have anything in it can that happen it shoudl at least open
even if it had no data right? I think I must have closed the file wrong or
something other .mdb files open as usual. I think I might have to start over
that is a lot of data entry.

Have you tried a compact and repair?
