LDAP vs. Contact List

When I compose a new email and hit the to: button to choose contacts to send
the email to the drop downlist automatically defaults to the LDAP and
therefore there is a delay for it to connect or something. Anyway to have it
default to contacts from the drop down box in the top right, rathern then
LDAP so i don't have to wait while just trying to add a contact from my local
contact list?

Using Office Outlook 2003 SP1

Also, for some reason the only way I'm able to search the LDAP is by boing
to address book then hitting the "find Items" button and then typing in a
name. Shouldn't I have access to the LDAP when I hit the to: button?

Thanks,
Jason

Here is the answer from the "HELP" on Outlook 2002.
I'm assuming you don't have an LDAP connection and that you use your Outlook
contact list for your address book.

1) On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
2) Under Directory, select View or change existing directories or address
books, and then click Next.
3) Click the address book you want to delete, and then click delete or
remove.

To change additional settings, click More Settings.
Close and restart Outlook.
It should now default to your address book and not the LDAP one.
Click OK, and then click Finish

That's how to delete the LDAP list. To make Contacts the default instead of
LDAP, choose Tools | Address Book, then Tools | Options.
