LCDs & Interference

I got my Samsung 204T LCD and it seems to work fine but one thing I notice
in their manual is the following:

Environment
The location and the position of the monitor may influence the quality and
other
features of the monitor.
1. if there are any sub woofer speakers near the monitor, unplug and
relocate the woofer
to another room.
2. Remove all electronic devices such as radios, fans, clocks and telephones
that are
within 3 feet (one meter) of the monitor.

.. . . I did some searching and everyone seems to say that LCDs are not
really prone to electromagnetic interference, so, why do things like a phone
have to be kept away from it?

Although the screen itself isn't subject to it, the input signal is.

Haha...to another room?! Pretty stupid advice. As long as it is on the
floor near your desk a subwoofer won't cause any such interference.
