LCD monitor settings

What is the best resolution and refresh rate frequency
settings for a LCD display with a Geforce FX 5200 video
card and using a 17" Samsung SyncMaster? The maximun and
the native resolution are 1280 X 1024, with optimum
refresh rate at 60 hz and max at 75 hz. But when set to
this, everything is too small on the screen. I ran my old
CRT at 1024 X 768 and prefer that size result. Most people
say to set a LCD to it's native resolution, but will it be
ok to set mine to a lower resolution, and at what refresh
rate ? thanks, email- (e-mail address removed)

two things you can do to try and enlarge the letters.
use LARGE settings under Display Properties Settings tab and advanced button.
also might try using Accessibility wizard to use large fonts.
both is what I do with my LCD.
