Layout/Format of Word File Attachment

I'm using Outlook 2003 and when I open a Word file attachment the layout is
modified to a strange format. This doesn't happen when I save the attachment
to my desktop and open it from there. Is there anyway to turn off a setting
so that I can open Word files from my email and still have the format look
normal?

Define "strange" and "normal" - we are not looking over your shoulder so
have no idea what you are seeing. Do you mean normal view vs. print layout
vs. web layout?
