I tried the adware SE trial and liked it then paid for the full product. The
correct charge went through OK. I immediately afterwards (within minutes)
had an unauthorized charge on my credit card (has never happened before or
since). Had numerous problems with the product and finally had to remove it
from my machine (Win XP-home ed.) I informed Lavasoft and their sub seller of
the credit card problem problem. Their response-"what? not me." Maybe it
wasn't them but perhaps a defect somehow allowed someone to view my info?
Really liked the trial version and still use it on another machine.

Regarding the credit card charge - file a dispute with the credit card
company. They will get to the bottom of it.

Did you buy Ad-Aware Professional from this site?

If not, your beef is with the people you bought it from, not with Lavasoft!

If you knew half as much as you think you know,
You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew!

Any disputed charges should be addressed to the credit card company or bank
who issued it.

First, call the credit card company [bank or who ever] and tell them exactly
[as best you can] what happened. They will resolve it if possible and return
your money. Second, if you have any current version of Norton Anti-Virus
there is a tool in which you can list personal information such as credit
card numbers, Social Security Numbers, etc, protect it with a password, and
the program will inform you every time that private information is being
extracted from your files (which is likely where yours was taken) and
recommend that such be blocked. Other Anti-Virus programs likely have
similar features. If it happens in the future, CONTACT the issuer of the
card immediately and let them deal with it. If you have not already, call
them so that they can block further use of that card and issue you a new
one. Otherwise, you are partly at fault and that can cost you money.

Several years ago, I had a similiar situation occur with trend Micro
PCcillin.... They wanted $$ to bring it up to date and I authorized it but
never got the update code.... I was pissed..The product itself has gotten
even better over the lastfew years and a years worth of it came with my new
MOBO... i never had a problem with trendMicro, just the thieves that conned
me into belieivng they were bona fide....

Make sure you got it from the right place - there are a some fake
antivirus/antispyware products out there that have similar names to the
leading products.
