Launching Public Outlook...?

Kenneth

Howdy,

I am trying (without success thus far) to use Public Outlook V1.2 to
share access to my PST file.

I am on a TCP/IP intranet. Both systems have DCOM associated with the
TCP/IP protocol.

Both are Win 2000 Pro boxes. The PST file is on a system that runs
OL2000. The other (remote) system is running OL2002.

On the system with the PST, I start Public Outlook Server. I have the
appropriate username with all approvals checked. I then start Outlook
on that machine.

On the remote machine I have installed Public Outlook Client.

When I try to launch Outlook on the client machine, I get an error
that says "Your personal address book cannot be opened. It has been
opened for use by another computer..." My choices at that point are
Retry (which, of course, produces the same result), or Cancel. When I
choose Cancel, nothing further happens.

Might yo provide any help on this?

Sincere thanks,

Hello again,

I am making progress (of a sort):

Now, when I am on the client machine and try to list the stores, I get
the error: "PST file is in use by another computer." Public Outlook
Server is running (as it must be) but Outlook is definitely not.

Might you assist?

Thanks,

Did you contact Public Outlook's support?

This has nothing to do with Outlook.
