Launching Outlook 2003, but selecting Identity first (Like in OE)?

Hi, in Outlook Express you can create multiple identities under one user
logon, and when you launch the program, OE will prompt the current user to
select an identity from the list and ask to enter a password before opening
the program.

Can the same be done with Outlook 2003?

Thanks.

Run the Mail applet in Control Panel and select the option to prompt for a profile.

Hi, and thanks for the reply. I just tried that, but the Outlook Profile
does not prompt for a password like OE's Identity feature. Is there a way to
force the profile to ask for a password?

Thanks.

Outlook mail profiles don't have passwords. Each individual mail account and Personal Folders .pst file used by a profile may have a password. Check the settings for each.

I can set each account to prompt for a password when sending and receiving
messages, but I was looking for something that won't allow unauthorized
users into Outlook completely. The way OE Identity works is the feature I
was looking for. Basically, when you launch the program, unless you enter a
password, the application won't even launch. Maybe that can't be done with
Outlook?

If each mail profile references a distinct PST, the PST can be
password-protected so that it will not open unless the user of Outlook
exters the password.
