? Launch VPN conn. using Scheduled Tasks, or a script ?

I would like to be able to automate the launch of a VPN
connection.

Once per night, this scheduled task or script would
launch a VPN connection, leave it open for a
predetermined length of time, and then destroy the
connection.

I have not found a way to do this from the GUI or the
CLI, so I'm suspecting that scripting is the answer. But
I have not found any online examples of this type of
script helpful.

Any pointers to get me started in the right direction
would be much appreciated.

We have the same issue here and are looking for a solution

Look for a program call RASPHONE from Command Line.... should do the trick....
