Latest "non-digital-audio" AIW drivers?

Egads, the last few versions of drivers and MMC have surely sucked the
big green one... I've been testing the latest BeyondTV and really like
it, but performance was simply awful with the newer CCC drivers, and the
audio was intermittant at best before it disappeared completely.

I've reverted to v6.5 of the Catalyst drivers and they work a LOT better
with BeyondTV, but audio still goes out of sync if there's any kind of
load on the system. If I can't get that sorted out, I may just go back
to MMC 9.08.

So the question is: if I do need to go to 9.08, which are the latest
Catalyst drivers that will work with it, and which are the latest
drivers I can use before all this "internal audio routing" crap was
introduced?

Catalyst drivers are the display drivers. WDM drivers are the multimedia
drivers. They come in the Catalyst release so it gets confusing.

AFAICR the WDM drivers in the Cat6.2 was the last specifically for MMC9.08
and works with 9.06.1 as well. I'm using Cat6.2 and MMC9.06.1 at the moment.
You may be able use them with the 9.1x versions of MMC but I haven't tried
it and can't recommend it.

I didn't have audio issues with 9.1x. Went back because it crashed
frequently. May be because my P.4-2.4GHZ system isn't quite fast enough for
both an AIW and HDTV Wonder under MMC. Really don't see any advantage to
9.1x for just an AIW.

Installing the ATI software hoses my Audigy2 install about 20% of the time
so you may want to reinstall your audio drivers. The audio drivers don't
show a problem but reinstalling fixes it.(My system gets like an audio
stutter when corrupted)

When going to an older version I always do a manual cleaning per
ati.com/install.

If you want to go back to analog audio it changed, again AFAICR, way back at
Cat5.4. you can use these drivers up to 9.08 but it takes some extra work.
You should be able to find the process by Googling.

Try toggling DXVA acceleration in CCC with the 9.1x versions.
