Anyone know of good free "Last Will & Testament"
software? Thanks

Al;

No, I don't. But! Legal requirements for wills depend on state (or
country). A free /way/ to go about this is to visit your local public
library and check out the NOLO press series on wills.

You hardly need any software. Write out what you want to do with all
possessions, where debt repayment is to come from if not from the entire
estate, plus any special or unusual instructions. Keep it simple - just easy
to understand. There is no need for any legal jargon. Include a clause
revoking any former wills (if any) Sign and date it in front of two
witnesses who will also sign. You might find some tips here.

Many wills now cover your wishes for (or against) use of body organs where
possible, but check local laws for this.

I wish Babya would make something like this...

Trouble is, by the time you got it to work, you'd be pushing up daisies...
Also, I hear that his corpse support isn't very good.

Not software but online forms at:

http://www.ilrg.com/forms/lastwill-single/us/

Once you choose your form, you can select the text in your browser, copy
it, then paste it into the word processor of your choice. I did this as a
test, then took the form to two of the attorneys in my office. Both said
that the form "appeared" valid.

Caution: Please be aware that this organization also offers the option to
sell you a Word-formatted or fax you a similarly formatted version of this
document. According to their "Terms of Use" statement I don't believe the
above use violates their policy:

or print material appearing on the Site subject to the following
conditions:

* The copyright notice and permission notice: "Copyright © 2005

But...I've been wrong before. In any case, this is an interesting
resource.

please configure your MailClient. The line "I wish Babya would make
something like this..." in your repost to (e-mail address removed) has no
quotion-mark. So it false looks like that this line is originated by you
and not by (e-mail address removed) - as you can see above.

Lawyers just love homemade Wills, keeps them employed for years when
the beneficiaries discover the holes in them.

Seems as if lawyers like wills, period. Home made or no, they're still
employed for years finding holes.

A will has no valid form. It can be written on anything, including
tablets of stone, papyrus or vellum. It can be written in ink, blood,
sweat or tears, scratched on the ground or inscribed on clay tablets.
In most places it is sufficient if it is handwritten and witnessed by
one person or, if mechanically printed, it may require two witnesses.

If it states that it is your last will and testament and that it
replaces all previous wills then that is all that is required.
