Insert last page number in footer in the text of the document

I am a lawyer. In my will forms I use a footer to number the pages. The last
paragraph of my will forms reads "... my Last Will and Testament consisting
of ___
pages". Is there away to automate the insertion of the total page numbers? I
have Word XP. Thanks

A {numpages} field will insert the number of pages.

You can use fields.

Page {PAGE} of {NUMPAGES} pages, would result in Page 3 of 3 pages in
a three page will.

Fields are entered using CTRL+F9 to insert the field code braces { }
after inserting the text shown above then right click the field, click
update field and then toggle field codes.

The simplest way: Insert menu, select Field. Scroll down until you find
NumPages, then select the format 1,2,3,...

Richard,

Simpliest in this case I would agree. However, if one wants to really
learn how to use fields then IMHO it is best to learn from the
beginning to build them with the keyboard keys.
