Last used not accurate in Add or Remove Programs Applet

This has been bothering me for quite some time, but it's not that big of a
deal so I have ignored it. I am wondering if someone can answer this though.
When I go into "add / remove software programs, the date last used is never
correct with XP. It will also say "rarely" for the frequency of use when I
just use the program all of the time. This all used to be accurate in
Windows 2000. This "bug" seems to be true on every XP machine I have. Is
there a fix for this?
