error: Blue screen
always have to use "Last known good config"

I have both XP Home and Pro installed. My resolution to get pass the blue
screen of death is to load the XP Home edition. No problems. It is moving
a little slower than before. After I shut it down, then I load XP Pro and
select "Last known good config". XP Pro starts up.

I would hate to do a new install of XP. I attempted to just run the XP Pro
install to do the repair but received a --upgrade error message---..

Do anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
T.

One cannot use XP Pro to repair a XP Home installation.

I think Carey has missed the point here. The issue is not whether to do a repair install or any install at all. Why in god's name are you having BSOD's on one of the most stable platforms yet to be released? I suggest you stop them and this will eliminate the need to ever use "last known good cofiguration" or have to do a repair install. Your "resolution" should be focused on stopping any BSOD's. Good luck (:~)
