Copo

I have an AD which was upgraded for years, and the last BDC is ready to
decomission, anything I have to be care about before taking it offline ?

Thanks!

There is nothing special that needs to be done when removing a BDC, you can
just turn it off and delete the computer account. When it goes, you can
think about moving to Native mode.

Simon,

Wouldn't you still need to do a metadata cleanup via ntdsutil?

Should have also included adsiedit in the above post as well as any DNS
entries...

Not for an NT BDC I don't think, they don't have any lingering NTDS settings
in AD that need to be cleaned up. AFAIK the metadata cleanup is only
required for 2000\2003 DC's that are not demoted properly.

Okay,

I just remember answering a very similar question ( pretty much the exact
question ) and several people jumped on that response.
