LaserJet 2100 Ghosting Problem - fuser or transfer roller

I have a LaserJet 2100 that has developed a ghosting problem. When printing
a test page, it repeats one word or two from the top of the page in the
middle of the page, then there two or three faint grey lines after that.
Not sure if it's the fuser or the transfer roller. There was mention of a
power supply issue too. Before I bring it to a local repair shop, I'd like
to have some idea of what might be occuring so I can discuss it with the
tech. Thanks in advance!

Sounds more like the optical drum. the fuser and transfer roller would
cause repeats much closer together.

try stopping the print while the paper is still inside and before it
reaches the fuser. That will at least eiliminate that as the cause.

Hi Dave - thanks for your response. I printed a test page and opened the
cover just as the full length of the sheet had entered the paper. No ghost
image!
