Hi! I have a Dell laptop installed with Windows XP and a
desktop computer that is also installed with Windows XP.
Both versions are Pro.
I want to transfer some data from the laptop to
the desktop. For this I was suggested the use of a CAT-5
cable. From any of the systems I search for the host name
and I am supposed to gain access to the other system with
that host name. However it directly logs in as a guest
and asks for the guest password. The only users created
on both the systems are the admin...absolutely no guests.
What is the problem and how can it be rectified. So many
of my office pals use this method. It works just fine for
them.
Also can I use the same system to transfer files
between two desktop computers without setting up a home
or a small office network?
