Laptop shuts down

When running a Mcafee scan the laptop shuts off completely before the scan is
finished. Any ideas why this is happening?

Does it happen other times too or just during a Mcafee scan? If it
happens other times as well suggests a hardware problem. Send it in for
service.
 
It's likely a combination of Hibernate settings.
I have an old HP laptop that would go into hibernate, and even shutdown if
the BIOS settings and windows settings were not set up correctly. (Win ME)
