Do a Google search for Toshiba Tecra A8-143

Ist hit was
http://www.arn-mag.com/productreviews/article.php?artid=1836&p=1
for $1300. You'll need to check the specifications.

And be CERTAIN you get the COA for XP. Without it, you will have bought a
computer without a legal operating system and you won't be able to do
upgrades and repairs.

Personally I think it's a little highm even if it's almost new; eight to
nine hundred would be more like it, and still very fair. If it's been in
use for a year, I'd say more like $500.

Check Ebay, Toshiba, Gateway and Dell for similar machines and see how it
matches up. Beware Ebay purchases if it's new to you. And again, be
certain you get the COA; the installation code you need for the XP. Do NOT
take the machine without it, or you could end up with pirated software; MS
is actively looking for that right now.
A good idea to check the MS site too first, to be sure the COA isn't one
of the pirated ones on their list. Probably isn't, but you never know -
lots of honest people get fooled that way.

Horrible Price do not take it!

You can find much better deals at Newegg.com Go here..

Newegg laptops section
http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCategory.asp?SubCategory=32

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834147143
HP Compaq nx9420(EV268AA#ABA) NoteBook Intel Core Duo T2400(1.83GHz) 17.0"
Wide SXGA+ 1GB 100GB 5400rpm DVD±R/RW ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 - Retail
$1,499.99

That model not only is the same price but it has a 17" screen double the ram
and 20 Gigs more hard drive space than that toshiba you were looking at for
the same price. Good Luck.
