Laptop microphone problem

Since upgrading my Tiny 8050D Laptop to Windows Vista, I find I am not
getting very much out of the internal microphon. It is working but very
quiet. I have tried clicking microphone boost but that has no effect.
Is this a driver problem in Vista? The micophone channel does not appear in
the Volume Control mixer.
Tiny Computers no longer exists so there is nowhere for support.

This is a rebadged Mitac 8050D or 8050DC
Try and find a link from http://www.mitac.com.tw/english/index.htm
Or else look for another company who also rebadged these. There was a
generic sound problem with these anyway - the sound recording function
picked up a sine wave from the CPU fan which put a hum into anything
recorded...
Give up and get a USB sound card
