hi there,

i am having a prob with my laptop-its a Toshiba equium a60. briefly let me
explain. i was getting a blue screen error message(ati2dvag issue-related to
my graphic card ATI) every now and then and my windows kept crashing and i
had to restart. i made some research and on one website of the solutions was
to install the latest bios update. downloaded the latest update from toshiba
and windows stopped crashing on the ATI prob but a new one appeared. my
laptop is ok for a few mins and then it just freezed.

i used system restore but every restore points (more than 20 of them)
weren't working. and i turned it system restore off.no restre points now.

is there a way to reverse the bios update or any other thing i could do?
please help. am desperate!!!

Do you think it is freezing because of the BIOS update?

Is there anything in your Windows Event Logs that might point to another
cause?

If you booted to another OS (like a BartPE CD or a bootable *nux CD or even
a DOS boot floppy/CD) - does it freeze up?
(The last thing is troubleshooting - is it an OS as installed issue or
hardware...)

You may want to boot into Safe Mode (if you don't understand the last
question or how to do it) and see if it freezes there. If it doesn't - then
it could be a driver issue and you need to go to Toshiba's web site and get
the latest hardware drivers installed on your computer.

And you could flash the BIOS in the same way you did before to an older
version - given you have the older version and a way to do that.

hi there, no i haven't used winupdate for any drivers. i just updated the
bios file from Toshiba's support website. But i have run windows update and
there weren't any high priority updates for me. does that clarify you a bit
on my situation?

I would visit Tosh support & install chipset & vid drivers from them
