Hello.

My Toshiba Laptop with Windows XP will all of a sudden
shut down with out warning. It's like it loses power or
something and switches to an "off but charging" mode. I
have downloaded the Sasser removal program from Microsoft
but it says "No infection detected". I'm not sure if this
is a problem with Windows XP or the hardware but I'm
looking for any suggestions anybody might have.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Dallas

I Googled a bit... one place said that if your battery is going bad
can cause this. They suggested taking the battery completely out and
seeing if it still does it.
Sounds like a long shot... but who knows?

When you restart with the power switch, does it come up
quickly or does it appear to be doing a full boot ?
If full boot, (logo, splash screen . . .) it's definitely
powering off.

My opinion, knowing only what you've said . . . Hardware

Try taking the battery out and try just running straight
off the power cord . . . could be a battery problem . . .

Good Luck !

Just click on the power settings at the bottom right of your screen. (its
one of the icons at the bottom) then turn off the suspend mode.
